Eighteen prohibition notices served on Rotherham firms breaching Covid-19 rules

The statistics from the local authority show that officials have received 85 reports relating to non-food retail, and six relating to licensed clubs.
Other reports included seven about pubs, two about hairdressers and one about backyard poultry keepers.

Hide AdTom Smith, council assistant director for community safety and street scene, said: “These allegations include that businesses have opened when the regulations require them to close.
“We’ve responded to all the complaints of businesses operating in contravention of Covid-19 restrictions.
“Where premises were found to have contravened the regulations, the council has served 18 prohibition notices, with one business currently being considered for prosecution for breaching the prohibition.
“Additionally, council officers have carried out 2,570 monitoring visits to premises to give advice and check their compliance with the restrictions.”
