“We are looking forward to welcoming Barnsley residents back into their libraries and hope to make more of our services available when the situation allows us to.

“I would also remind residents that our online library resources are also still available to use, and no fines are being issued for late return of books, so there is no need to rush back if you are not yet ready.”

The Glass Works’ independent food court has been closed since late March, but will reopen on July 4 between 8.30am and 11pm, and July 5 between 10am and 11pm.

It will be closed on July 6, when opening times for the rest of the summer period will be announced.

At the front of the queue, one member of each party will be required to provide their name, phone number, group size and post code for the government’s track and trace system, which will only be shared with the government in the case of an outbreak.
