Barnsley’s new Fridays restaurant to open next week creating 70 jobs

The new restaurant will open on November 16 near Superbowl UK and Cineworld at the Glass Works.

Spanning approx. 5,300 square feet, the site will have a bar and 200 seat restaurant over its indoor and outdoor space.

To celebrate this opening, Fridays Barnsley will be hosting a Christmas-themed, circus day on November 26 2022 from 1pm – 4pm outside the restaurant, which will be open to the public and feature circus acts and fun activities for the whole family.

Julie McEwan, chief operating officer, said: “We are beyond excited to open our doors to the people of Barnsley.

“This new cocktail bar amd restaurant captures the very best of Fridays, including a greater focus on the bar and our amazing cocktails.

“We’ve also invested heavily in the guest experience, with the new site offering incredible American inspired food including the new Tex Mex menu and the famous sesame jack chicken strips, and amazing cocktails.

“We want all of our guests to feel welcome and comfortable to show their stripes, whatever they may be. We cannot wait to bring that Fridays feeling to Barnsley”.

Councillor Steve Houghton, leader of Barnsley Council, said: “We’re thrilled to see Fridays opening in The Glass Works.

“It’s a hugely popular brand and a family favourite. It complements our other great restaurant, bar and leisure venues perfectly and will provide people with even more reasons to come and enjoy our town centre – both in the day and the evening.”
