Application for 43 new affordable homes in Barnsley submitted
Plans for 43 new affordable homes in Shafton have been submitted.
Applicants Vistry Partnerships and Places for People want to build the homes on land off High Street, behind the homes on Poplar Avenue and Park View.
The proposed houses are two storeys high, other than two bungalows.
Following a pre-application enquiry, developers agreed to address the “reduction of frontage and remote parking across the site and the emphasis of safety and natural surveillance of the cul-de-sacs”.
The two to four bedroom homes are part of a nationwide plan to provide more than 570 new homes across six developments by Vistry Partnership.
Planning documents state: “The site is approximately 1.25 ha in size and islocated to the north of High Street. The site comprises a field which is largely overgrown, containing trees and scrub.
“There is currently no vehicular access to the site although the existing planning permission includes a new vehicular and pedestrian access from High Street .”
