“This exciting local derby attracts a lot of interest and we will work hard to ensure it is a safe and enjoyable occasion for both sets of supporters.

“We are never complacent and we will be deploying our officers at key locations to prevent and deal with any incidents. Our aim is to be friendly and engaging, but we will be quick to deal with troublemakers.

“This is the biggest game of the season at the Proact and a significant operation for Derbyshire Constabulary. We will be joined on the day by colleagues from both British Transport Police and South Yorkshire Police.”

Derbyshire officers will be using the newly issued body worn video and fans should be aware that there will also be specialist dogs on duty that detect drugs and pyrotechnics.

Supt Allen added: “Don’t bring fireworks or smoke devices to the game. We’ll find them, and you’ll be arrested.

“We want fans of both clubs to enjoy the whole day. We would ask that they take responsibility for their actions and those that choose to, drink responsibly.

“Our message is clear. Be loud, be proud but behave.”
