Police seek man who pinned woman to a wall in attempted robbery in Rotherham

Detectives have issued an E-fit of a man they want to trace after he pinned a woman to a wall in Rotherham in an attempted robbery.

South Yorkshire Police said the woman was walking in the Ochre Dike Walk area of the Rockingham estate when she was approached by a man who made inappropriate comments before pinning her to a wall and demanding personal property.

The woman managed to run away from the man, who fled in the opposite direction.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “She was not injured but was left distressed and scared by the incident.”

The man is thought to have been between 24 and 30 years old, around 5ft 7ins tall and slim

He was wearing black-rimmed square glasses and a navy blue anorak-style jacket with the hood up.
