Police seek man over attempted robbery at building society in Chesterfield

Officers have issued a CCTV image of man they believe could hold vital information about the incident at Nottingham Building Society, Burlington Street, at 3.45pm on Friday, June 17.

Derbyshire Police said he walked into the building society and demanded money.

Nobody was hurt and no weapon was seen during the attempted hold-up.

The man officers want to trace was in his 30s, about 6ft 4ins tall and was wearing a dark jacket, sunglasses and a baseball cap.

He had a white carrier bag at the time.

The offender fled empty-handed, through a fire exit at the back of the premises.
