Police rule out foul play in Doncaster river death

Police officers investigating the death of a man found in a river in Doncaster have ruled out foul play.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released by South Yorkshire Police, was found close to Grey Friar’s Bridge, of Church View, at 12.45pm yesterday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers have begun enquiries into establishing the circumstances surrounding his death, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

“The identity of the man has not yet been confirmed.”
