Police reveal details of ANOTHER supermarket ram raid in Sheffield

Another Sheffield supermarket has been targeted by ram raiders in Sheffield, detectives have revealed.

They struck at Asda on South Road, Walkley, last Wednesday - with the attack one of a number of ram raids committed across the city over recent days.

Yesterday, detectives revealed that they were looking into three early morning ram raids in the city which could be linked.

The Texaco garage on Burncross Road, Chapeltown, was targeted at 2.44am, followed by Tesco on Dykes Hall Road, Hillsborough at 3.54am and Spar on Pot House Lane, Stocksbridge, at 4.20am.

Detectives said a dark vehicle was used in all three raids and cash and cigarettes were stolen.

An attempt was also made to ram raid Screwfix in Hillsborough yesterday.

Now, South Yorkshire Police has revealed that an attempt was also made to ram raid Asda in Walkley last Wednesday – on the same day that there was an attempt to raid Tesco on Herries Road, Southey.

Detectives believe the two incidents could be linked.

That day, the Co-op on Oldfield Road, Stannington, was also broken into and thieves got away with cigarettes.

Last Friday, thieves escaped with cigarettes after raidingTesco on Infirmary Road, Upperthorpe.
