Police renew witness appeal a week after Sheffield bus crash tragedy

Police have made a further appeal for witnesses after a teenager was killed in city centre bus smash.

Summer Lee Seymour, aged 15, died and a 17-year-old boy, named locally as Jake Ford, was seriously injured in the collision with a bus on Haymarket, at the junction with Castle Street in Sheffield, a week ago.

Officers have spoken to the bus driver under caution in connection with the collision and enquiries are ongoing.

“We are very grateful to the support we’ve had from the public as we investigate this incident, but we believe there are more witnesses out there yet to come forward.

“It was rush hour in the city centre on a Friday night and we know from our enquiries so far that there were lots of people in the area.

“Even the smallest detail could be helpful so I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have seen the teenagers prior to the collision, to get in touch.”
