Police re-visit Sheffield suburb after fatal shooting

Leaflets asking for information about a Sheffield murder are being delivered to hundreds of homes in a city suburb today.

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Aseel Al-Essaie, aged 23, are still appealing for those with information to come forward.

Aseel was gunned down in Daniel Hill, Walkley, on Saturday, February 18.

He had just arrived for a family gathering to celebrate his twin sister's engagement when he was shot in his chest.

Aseel was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

Nine suspects have been arrested over the death, with suspects held on suspicion of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and assisting an offender.

They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

South Yorkshire Police said 500 leaflets are to be delivered to homes in Upperthorpe today.

Special constables are to return to the suburb tomorrow.
