Police raid uncovers huge £250,000 cannabis haul on South Yorkshire industrial estate

A police raid has uncovered a massive haul of cannabis worth around £250,000.

Officers located the drugs factory on an industrial estate in Parkgate, Rotherham, on Wednesday.

Hundreds of plants in ‘various stages of growth’ were seized and are set to be destroyed at a later date.

A spokesman from Rotherham North Local Policing Team said: “The cannabis factory was located in a industrial unit in Parkgate.

“Some 400 plants are in various stages of growth with a street value of £250,000.

“The cannabis that has been seized will be destroyed. The equipment has already been destroyed.

“No arrests have been made at this time but enquiries to locate owners are still ongoing.”
