A police probe into a shooting in Sheffield over the weekend is continuing today.

An investigation was launched after a 42-year-old man was shot in his leg after he left a house in Nodder Road, Woodthorpe, just before 1.10am on Saturday.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and quizzed over the gun attack before being bailed pending further enquiries.

South Yorkshire Police said the victim was approached by a group of men before several shots were fired towards him.

Temporary Detective Inspector Stuart Hall said those involved drove off in a white people carrier.

The shooting is being treated as a 'targeted attack'.
