Detectives are continuing to investigate a suspected arson attack on a pub in Sheffield.

The fire started at the front doorway of the Wybourn Hotel, Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn, at around 4.15am on Sunday, July 8.

It is believed that accelerants may have been used to start the blaze, with local residents claiming the pub was firebombed.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At around 4.15am on Sunday, July 8, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue notified police of a fire at the Wybourn Hotel on Cricket Inn Road, Sheffield.

"The fire is thought to have been started deliberately and an investigation is now under way."
