A police investigation has been launched into reports of racial abuse towards a Rotherham United player.

It is understood that the abuse, posted on Facebook, related to on-loan Chelsea player Izzy Brown, following Rotherham's 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion last Saturday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "South Yorkshire Police can confirm that they are investigating reports of alleged racial abuse being made towards a Rotherham United football player on social media."
