South Yorkshire Police said the 64-year-old briefly got out of his gold Range Rover in Burngreave Road, Burngreave, and it was stolen.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in nearby Brunswick Road

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to an incident in Burngreave Road at about 7.45am yesterday morning.

"It is reported that a 64-year-old man had his car, a gold Range Rover, stolen.

"The driver briefly got out of the car and a man unknown has then got into the Range Rover, before driving off down Spital Hill towards the Wicker.

"The owner of the car suffered minor injuries as the car was driven off.

"The car was later found in Brunswick Road."

A man and two women have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
