Police to probe arson attack on car parked up on Sheffield road

A car which was hit by a suspected arson attack is to be investigated by police.

One crew from Elm Lane fire station were called out to Longley Hall Road in Longley at around 8.30pm on Friday to reports a Ford car had gone up in flames.

A South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesman said: "It appears to be deliberate. There was no real evidence of an engine fire or anything like that.

"The back window had been smashed and there appeared to be accelerate on the back seat."
