PLANS for an all-night DJ party in a Sheffield city centre building are being opposed by police.

Pierluigi Ferri, of Headford Road, Broomhall, has applied for permission to hold the event at 31 Regent Terrace, off West Street, from 12.30pm on Saturday until 7am on Sunday.

He said up to 80 people are set to attend and wants permission to have live music including DJs, and sell alcohol.

Police are objecting on the grounds of ‘prevention of crime and disorder’.

A statement said: “We have concerns about the nature of the event and have been unable to contact the applicant to obtain further information.”

The application for a temporary event notice licence will be decided at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s licensing board today.
