Around 15kg of drugs were found following a number of raids in Burngreave, Sheffield, this week as part a crime crackdown code-named Operation Duxford.

Cash, a number of firearms and a mechanical press, believed to have been used in drugs production, were also seized in the raids.

Two men have been charged over the drugs seizures.

Sajid Hussain, age 34, and Abid Hussain, 37, both of Burngreave Road, Burngreave, have been charged with possession with intent to supply.

They appeared before Sheffield magistrates and were remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next month.

Chief Inspector Ian Proffitt, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This seizure of significant quantities of what we believe to be Class A drugs is one of the biggest we’ve had in the city for several years.

“While there was extensive and overt police activity on Monday as part of Operation Duxford, I want to reassure the public that our investigations remain very much ongoing and this operation forms part of our wider work across the city to tackle drug and gang issues.
