Police issue warning after thieves target vehicles in Sheffield

Motorists have been urged to remove any valuables from vehicles following a spate of thefts in Sheffield.

Sheffield South East NHP has had several thefts from motor vehicles in the area reported to them in the past 24 hours.

Clothes and a mobile phone were stolen from a car in Berners Road, Arbourthorne after offenders smashed a vehicle window with a brick.

A spokesman for Sheffield South East NHP said: "Please ensure where possible that any valuables are removed from our vehicles when leaving them unattended, even for a short period of time.

"Continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity."

A vehicle was stolen from Badger Close, Woodhouse sometime during Friday evening and Saturday morning, and number plates were taken from a vehicle in Norfolk Park Road at around 5pm on Saturday.

Two televisions, a stereo system and mobile phone were taken during a burglary in Boundary Road, Wybourn after thieves removed the lock barrel from a door handle to gain entry on Friday evening.
