Police issue warning after rescuing dog from Sheffield car

Police have issued a warning to dog owners after one animal had to be rescued from a car and given first aid.

The Sheffield west neighbourhood policing unit said the dog had been left for two hours in the vehicle on one of the hottest days of the year.

Luckily it was spotted by a passerby and triage was given.

A police spokesperson said: "All being well the animal will be ok."
