Police issue update over Derbyshire death crash which killed Sheffield friends

A police investigation into a crash in Derbyshire which killed two Sheffield friends is continuing.

Margaret Collier, aged 59 and Caroline Ball, 63, were killed in a head-on crash as they made their way to work in Chesterfield on Wednesday, October 7.

Tragedy struck on Station Road, Renishaw, when the Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a BMW travelling in the opposite direction.

Both women, who were described as best friends, were pronounced dead at the scene.

They were on their way to their early morning cleaning job at the time.

A 24-year-old Dronfield man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and later released under investigation as the police probe into the collision continues.
