Police to investigate 'unacceptable' Hillsborough Facebook posts after complaint

Enquiries are being made by South Yorkshire Police about comments allegedly made by a former officer.

Police received a complaint via twitter regarding an ex South Yorkshire Police officer, James Fletcher.

The user Lee Walls @LAW150489 claims that Mr Fletcher is an ex officer who has been making comments about Liverpool fans behaviour.

Samples of his comments include: "Just the response one would expect from cowardly Liverpudlian scumbags who attended that semi-final, without a ticket, p****d out of your brains, forcing your way into the ground and KILLING YOUR OWN FANS then putting the blame on others.

"I think the world should know that when someone makes a statement of fact, scumbag Liverpool supporters threaten to kill you! They killed people at Heysel and 96 at Hillsborough."
