Police inquiries into car crimes

A POLICE probe is under way into the theft of a motorbike from Leighton Drive, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, overnight last Monday, August 27.

Officers in Sheffield are also looking into the theft of a scooter from Gervase Drive, Lowedges, overnight on August 24, and a car taken from Ashbury Drive, Norton, between August 26 and 28.

Meanwhile fire crews were called out to a moped set alight on Chestnut Avenue, Kiveton Park, Rotherham, and a Piaggio scooter fired on Greaves Lane, High Green, Sheffield.

Both blazes were started at around 2.45am on Saturday.

A Toyota found burning on Ironside Road, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, had been deliberately set alight.

In Matlock Derbyshire fire crews were called to a vehicle blaze in Chesterfield Road on Saturday. The car was substantially burnt out when firefighters arrived.
