Police officers in a Sheffield suburb will wear bodycams on their uniform for the next two weeks after several problems with antisocial behaviour.

Sheffield East Local Policing Team announced on Twitter tonight that the drastic step will be taken in Tinsley after issues with fireworks.

The tweets said: “Following reports of #ASB #Tinsley we will be putting out extra patrols & utilising CCTV. Officers will also be wearing bodycams.

“Due to recent issues with fireworks in the area officers will wearing bodycams for the next couple of weeks.”

The news comes just 24 hours after vandalism in Page Hall caused First Bus to suspend services for an entire evening: Buses suspended due to repeated vandalism

Services have since resumed but the firm is working with police to identify offenders.
