Police identify dead man found at Chesterfield College

Police have confirmed the identity of a man who was found dead in the grounds of Chesterfield College.

The body was discovered at the college’s Infirmary Road site earlier this week as police were called about 6pm, on Tuesday, November 4, after receiving reports about a sudden death.

Police named the deceased man today, Thursday, November 6, as Paul Lowry, 45, of Staveley.

A police spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious after a college staff member originally found Mr Lowry’s body.

Stuart Cutforth, Chesterfield College principal said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this traumatic time.”

A police spokesman added that a file has been prepared for a pending Chesterfield coroner’s court inquest.
