Police hunt Sheffield champagne thief

The bottle of bubbly, valued at £34, was taken from the store at around 3.50pm on Friday, 4 December.

Investigating officer PC Mark Mason said: “A man entered the Marks and Spencer store at the station, made straight for the refrigerated aisle containing alcohol and helped himself to a bottle of champagne worth £34 before leaving the store without making any effort to pay.

“The man then ran off when he was challenged by a member of staff.”

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with this incident.

PC Mason added: “I believe this man will have vital information which could greatly assist our investigation. Who is he?”
