Police investigating a car-jacking in Mansfield believe the suspect could have fled through South Yorkshire.

A man suffered serious head injuries and his BMW saloon was stolen during an incident in the car park at National Tyres in Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield.

Nottinghamshire Police said they believe the offender may have travelled through Derbyshire and into South or West Yorkshire.

The victim was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre where he is in intensive care.

Police want to speak to a white man with a shaved head, wearing shorts, who was outside the building at the time of the theft at 1.15pm on Tuesday.
