Police hunt for armed robber who targeted Parson Cross shop

Police are trying to find a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Sheffield.

A man went into Grahams Newsagents in Elm Lane, Parson Cross, at about 4.20pm on Friday, June 3, and threatened staff with a metal barrel that was partly concealed by a carrier bag.

The man demanded cash but the shop assistant refused. Despite making further demands, the man left the store when the staff member triggered an alarm.

The robber, who left a JD Sports carrier bag at the scene, was described as about 6ft tall, of medium build with pale skin.

He was wearing a light grey hooded tracksuit, with a yellow scarf across his face and yellow gloves with red palms.

Police want to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image above in connection with the crime.
