Specialist officers and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit have recovered a suspected World War Two incendiary device at a house on Greno View Road in High Green.
The road has been closed after police were called to the home at around 1pm on Friday, May 22 after reports of a dangerous appliance.
Emergency service workers remain on the scene.
Police have asked residents to avoid the area and keep inside their homes.
