DETECTIVES in Chesterfield are trying to find the owners of a haul of stolen jewellery and silverware recovered by police.

Officers have seized hundreds of pieces of jewellery and items including silver goblets, chalices and teapots, during an operation in north Derbyshire.

They are now trying to trace their rightful owners and want to hear from anyone who has had jewellery or silverware stolen in the last year.

One of the recognisable pieces found by police is a set of gold dog tags on a chain with the names Mick and Linda and the date 5.7.86 inscribed on one and Jodie and Lucy and 18.2.94 on the other.

There are also a number of lockets with pictures inside them and several gold wedding bands.
