A BODY has been found by police officers searching for a man who went missing from his house boat.
The body, which has not yet been formally identified, was discovered by search teams looking for 61-year-old Steven Johnson, from Shireoaks.
He disappeared after leaving a neighbour’s house boat at Shireoaks Marina to return to his own after a meal on Tuesday, December 4.
Officers found a body on Wednesday when searching the marina with specialist sonar equipment loaned to the force by the Home Office.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said: “While formal identification has yet to take place, the body is believed to be that of missing boatman Steven Johnson.
“At this stage, police believe there are no suspicious circumstances.”
