Police crackdown on illegal use of motorbikes and quad bikes on Trans Pennine Trail

South Yorkshire Police ran an operation aimed at tackling the illegal use of motorbikes and quad bikes on the Trans Pennine Trail over the weekend.

They targeted the stretch of the trail between Worsbrough and Stairfoot and also ran an operation in Penistone.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "This was in light of recent calls from members of the public, reporting the illegal use of motorbikes and quadbikes.

"One male was issued with a warning, whilst several males in the Penistone area were given advice.

"In addition to this, officers gathered information and intelligence which will support future operations."
