Two women have been arrested after a fight involving a group of people in a Sheffield street.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed a road in the Sheffield suburb was closed off this evening.

A source who did not wish to be named said the road in question was Page Hall Road.

They added: “I drove through about 6pm. The road was still open but on the way back it was closed. Not too much was happening but it wasn’t comfortable if u know what I mean. There were some lads crowded round one shoe with blood on the floor but I didn’t see who it was from. I reckon something kicked off earlier and then that’s prompted a bigger fight later.”

A police statement said: “A disturbance was reported to police at around 6pm this evening on Page Hall Road in Page Hall.

“A number of people were fighting in the street. Police attended and two women have been arrested and are currently in custody.

“One man sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.”

There will be a visible police presence in the area throughout the evening.
