The crash took place at around 8am this morning on St Mary’s Gate at its junction with Bramall Lane, on the edge of Sheffield city centre.
A police spokesperson said it is believed that a silver Volkswagen Passat, a black BMW estate and a silver Ford Focus collided.
Traffic was stopped on the affected carriageway for some time but no one was injured and recovery of the cars was arranged.
