Police chief visits Sheffield schools to hear students voice concerns about crime

South Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner heard from Sheffield teenagers about the issues which concern them.

They told him about the places where they feel less safe and spoke about the dangers of drugs and the potential for the internet to make young people vulnerable to crime.

Dr Alan Billings visited Handsworth Grange Community Sports College to hear the views of students, including those studying crime on their sociology course.

He shared the most recent crime statistics and trends.

“I welcomed this opportunity to hear direct from young people themselves who spoke freely about matters of concern to them,” he said.

“It was important to me to have their take on how they see the relationship of the police to their age group.

“The groups I met were being well-prepared by their teachers for the possible dangers that may confront them day to day.
