Police officers are at an MOT test centre in Sheffield this morning after a huge blaze broke out last night.

The garage on Herries Road, Fir Vale, has been cordoned off and is under police guard, with fire service investigators due to arrive this morning to try to find the cause of the blaze.

Residents living nearby were evacuated from their homes while firefighters battled the blaze.

They said they heard explosions.

At the height of the blaze there were eight fire engines at the scene.

Crews left at 2am.
