Police ask oil attack victims to come forward
Police have urged victims of oil attacks to report the incident.
Yesterday, we brought you the story of a Doncaster carer who was left with blurred vision for 24 hours after being sprayed with cooking oil in Askern Road, Bentley.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said she was out walking with a service user at around 3.15pm on Saturday June 18 when a car with four or five youths inside pulled up alongside her. One of them sprayed the oil in her face.
Numerous comments have since emerged online with people saying the same thing had happened to them. One woman, who also wished to remain anonymous, said she also had oil sprayed at her in the Bentley area on Saturday afternoon. It is understood she will report the incident to the police.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Anyone who has any information about these incidents, or who has been a victim of such an incident and not reported it to police, please call 101 to report it.
