Police arrest two drivers after man killed in tragic morning motorcycle crash

Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a motorcyclist died in a road traffic collision in Doncaster yesterday morning, April 12.
At 9.30am, a motorcyclist was travelling along Edlington Lane in Old Edlington heading towards Five Lane Ends.While passing the junction at School Walk, the man’s black Triumph motorbike was in collision with a silver Peugeot RCZ travelling in the opposite direction.

Hide AdSouth Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “Sadly, the 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
“The driver of the Peugeot, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and driving while unfit through drink of drugs.”
The 58-year-old driver of a third vehicle, a black BMW saloon, was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

Hide AdBoth men have now been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses but request that anyone with any information, especially those with dash cam or CCTV footage of any of the vehicles, contacts us,” South Yorkshire Police said.
“In particular, we are keen to trace the driver of a dark-coloured taxi which we believe saw the vehicles prior to the collision.”
Information can be passed to the police through 101 quoting incident 198 of 12 April.
