Officers lying in wait in the grounds of a Sheffield primary school have arrested 13 individuals, following a series of criminal damage incidents and break-ins.

A spokesman for the Sheffield South West Safer Neighbourhoods Team confirmed that the operation had been put in to place, due to seeing sheds 'being broken into and criminal damage in the grounds of Greenhill Primary School' for the past five weekends.

Commenting on social media last night they said: "As a result we have put staff in the school tonight.

"Within 2 hours a group of 13 individuals have been detained by officers for all the damage that has been caused.

"They will all be processed in due course.

"An excellent result which will hopefully deter others and prevent any further damage."
