Police appeal over hit-and-run collision in Sheffield

Police investigating a hit-and-run collision in Sheffield are appealing for details about a car they want to trace.

The man, aged in his 40s, was cycling along Hathersage Road, towards Sheffield, when he was involved in a collision with a dark coloured car at the junction with Long Line, in Dore.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and the cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers are now trying to trace a black Honda Civic Type R that is believed to have tinted rear windows and rear windscreen, twin exhausts on the driver’s side and a roof spoiler.

The car may have damage to the passenger side wing mirror and headlight.

The cyclist remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.

A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the car, or who witnessed the collision at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, April 29 to contact them.
