Police appeal for information on Doncaster accident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was hit by a car on Sandringham Road near to the junction with Tudor road in Doncaster.

It has been reported at around 5.35pm on Friday, a 10-year-old boy was riding his bike across the crossing outside of Sainsbury’s on Sandringham Road, when a car travelling from the direction of Town Moor Avenue hit him.

The driver of the car is said to have stopped after the collision to check the boy was okay, before making off towards Tudor Road.

The 10-year-old was taken to Northern General Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The car has been described as dark blue/purple in colour and anyone who was in the area at the time, or saw the collision, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 967 of 17 February.
