Police appeal for witnesses following serious crash in Derbyshire

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A57 Snake Pass yesterday.

The incident occurred at around 5.10pm between the Snake Summit and Ladybower Inn.

A red Honda CBR 600 had been travelling from the direction of Glossop and a grey Skoda Yeti from the Ladybower direction when they crashed in an area known locally as Rowlee Farm.

The rider of the Honda, a 24-year-old man from Leeds, was airlifted to Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, having sustained extensive serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.

Two passengers in the Skoda are also being treated for serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or either vehicle beforehand is asked to contact Derbyshire Police on 101.
