Police are appealing for help to find a 41-year old Barnsley man

Mr Slaney was last seen in the Dodworth area of Barnsley on Thursday September 3 when he visited his parents in Park Hill Grove. He has not been seen since and the police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare as his disappearance is considered to be out of character.

Work conducted by the police today has suggested that Mr Slaney, who is from the Chapeltown area of Sheffield, may be in the Huddersfield area of West Yorkshire and officers are asking anyone recognising Mr Slaney to contact police.

Mr Slaney is described as a white male around 5ft 10” tall with short, brown hair, blue eyes and a slim build. When he was last seen he was wearing a brown coloured Adidas jacket, blue top, grey jogging bottoms and a black baseball cap. He also wears black rimmed glasses and was thought to be carrying a rucksack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quoting incident number 256 from September 4.
