Police appeal: Cyclist and coach collide near Sheffield during Sportive Tour de Yorkshire Ride

A cyclist competing in the Tour de Yorkshrie Ride amateur race suffered serious injuries after colliding with a coach.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the serious crash at around 11.15am today on Finkley Street Lane with the junction with Plankgate, Deepcar.

Officers said a male cyclist and a Scania light green and yellow coach were involved in the collision.

The cyclist, whose age is currently unknown, was been taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is understood to have been taking part in the Sportive, the Tour de Yorkshire Ride.
