Police are appealing for information after thieves broke in and stole two motorbikes from a garage in Chesterfield.

The thieves smashed the padlocks from a garage door and used tools to gain entry sometime between 3pm on Monday, August 17 and 9am on Monday, August 24.

Once inside, they forced the ignition on two motorbikes and drove off from the garage on Cuttholme Road, Chesterfield.

One of the bikes, a red coloured Honda, was later found in a stream off Ashgate Road; however an orange and white coloured KTM is missing.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone with any information about the burglary, or the whereabouts of the stolen KTM, to get in touch.
