Poetry marathon collects £13,000
A relay-style poetry reading marathon has raised around £13,000 to help destitute asylum seekers.
Fifty local poets – from established national figures to first-time writers – took part in the Sheffield Poem-a-thon at the Art House, off Division Street.
Proceeds are going to ASSIST Sheffield, which gives asylum seekers advice, accommodation and practical support.
