Plymout Raides 81 DBL Sharks, Sheffield 87: Rembert stars in Sharks win

DBL Sharks, Sheffield, eased the disappointment of defeat in Bristol on Saturday with a fine 87-81 BBL Championship win at Plymouth University Raiders last night.

Rashawn Rembert - who scored a game-high 27 points - and Malcolm Riley combined for 50 points in the win as the Sharks swung the game in their favour with a dominant third period.

After an even start, a 7-0 Sharks run gave them the edge in the opening period, but the home side hit back in the second as a trio of triples fired them ahead.

It was the spark of a 16-2 burst from the Raiders and they led by as many as eight points in the quarter, but would need a steal and dunk from Cory Dixon to head into half-time with the lead.

Sheffield had briefly re-gained the advantage with a 13-2 run and they would take that momentum into the third where they held the home side to just nine points to take control.

Daryl Corletto fired in five triples in the fourth to finish with 24 points and help the Raiders cut the gap to 75-77 inside the final two minutes.

However, the Sharks kept their nerve and were able to close out the game to consolidate their place in the top four with a 14-9 record.
