Pledge signed to back forces

Three councils have joined forces to sign a covenant which officially honours members of the Armed Forces.

Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire councils signed the charter which commits the authorities to looking after armed forces, veterans and their families.

The ceremony was held at Hardwick Hall, in recognition of the area’s strong links with the Parachute Regiment, which was based at the hall following its formation during the Second World War. It was attended by the leaders of the three councils, along with local veterans and the Royal British Legion.
