BARNSLEY residents are being invited to have their say on development plans at a series of public consultations.

Council bosses are hosting sessions giving members of the public the chance to view and comment on its Development Sites and Places document, which sets out proposals and considers the future use and designation of pieces of land in the borough for the next 15 to 20 years.

People are invited to attend Wombwell Library on Station Road between 10am and noon today, and Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall, Darton Lane, on Tuesday September 4.

The Pod in May Day Green will also play host to two consultation events - on Wednesday, September 5, and Saturday, September 8 - both of which take place from 11am until 2pm.
